Atropa Belladonna, also known as deadly nightshade, dwale, banewort or devil’s cherries, is a member of the nightshade family with a high level of notoriety surrounding it. Being both an extremely deadly poison and a life saving medicine, being aware of the dose and method is absolutely crucial. Named after Atropos, the Greek fate that severs the thread, belladonna has been used to kill kings and soldiers, heal severe ailments, speaking with the dead and to induce hallucinations. Belladonna is commonly found as an ingredient in most "witches brews" found in grimoires throughout Europe.
Medicinal uses include analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, anticholinergic, antianxiety, antidepressant, increasing focus, nerve pain relief, increasing libido and many other uses.
