Made from a blend of harvested Henbane, Saint John's wort, cinquefoil, arnica, dandelion, sunflower and balsamroot with the addition of organic ylang ylang oil, it is reminiscent of the intoxicating nature of summer night celebrations; an aid to a midsummer night's dream if you will. The plants chosen are widely recognized as plants surrounding the solstice, and grant a synergistic energy from one another to those within its presence. Henbane is a baneful nightshade associated with the underworld, summer, the rain, and mystic journeys. Saint John's wort is for protection, banishing and bringing in the power of the sun. Cinquefoil was a common addition to traditional flying ointments, and while it is not psychoactive, it grants power of victory, triumph and strength. The others are solar plants to add gentle spirits to balance out the sheer power of the 3 listed above. The ylang ylang is a flower that many consider to be the most inciting smells found in nature. This ointment is certainly a beautiful preparation, but a great deal of care, caution and respect must be taken when working with this and any ointments made by Weavers of Balance.
