Mandragora Officinarum, also known as mandrake, love apple or Satan's apple, is often described as the most famous magickal plant in history. Given its historically hallucinogenic and aphrodisiac properties along with the fact that the shape of the root is very humanistic, it has more myths, legends and folklore surrounding it than any other plant in the western world. Used for magick surrounding love, sympathetic magick, sex, dreams, visions, working directly with Hekate and communication with the Beyond. Mandrake is used as a powerful magickal agent and medicine throughout the Mediterranean, Northern Europe and Eastern Asia. It is spoken of throughout the Old Testament as an effective aphrodisiac agent, giving clue to being one of the only psychoactive compounds mentioned within abrahamic holy texts. It's referenced within the Kabalah, and is spoken of in the Apocrypha as coming directly from Adam.
